Arirang is one of the most beloved songs of Korea, host of the 2018 Winter Olympics, so I thought it would be a fitting song for recorder students.

Arirang is performed using the pentatonic scale (a 5 note scale). On recorder, we can play this scale using D, E, G, A, B. Although the scale itself is simple, the music of Arirang is very lyrical and can feel complex. However, once you master it, you will know a very lyrical and beautiful song that can really showcase your recorder skill!
