Over three consecutive nights, Toby Martin performed a 30 Year Retrospective, each night covering a ten year period. This video was recorded during the second night, which covered the years 2005 to 2015, and included Youth Group’s third (“Casino Twilight Dogs”) and fourth (“The Night Is Ours”) albums, and Toby’s first solo (“Love's Shadow”) album. Throughout the show, Toby was joined on stage by various friends and collaborators, and pasting it altogether, a ‘narrator’ sat beneath a table lamp to one side of the stage, reading a letter composed by Toby, providing the historical context of the songs. I recorded eight of them:

It was a delightfully intimate evening of wonderful music and lyrics. The sound quality in the small theatre was excellent. I only wish that larger venues sounded as good.
