The Lark (Zhavoronok) is one of the most poetic gems of Romantic music. Originally composed by Mikhail Glinka as a song for voice and piano, it was later transformed into a dazzling piano solo arrangement by Mily Balakirev. In this virtuosic transcription, the delicate melody — evoking the lark’s graceful flight and pure song — floats above shimmering arpeggios, blending lyrical beauty with pianistic brilliance.
