Description

These are two traditional Gaelic songs about seals. The first one tells the story of a selkie (a human turned into a seal) and how it came to live in the sea. These types of stories are common in the Gaelic folk-lore and song traditions. Amhran airson na ròin agus na chlann rìgh fo gheasan.

Tha an dàrna port a' lèirigeadh na ròin, n'ealachan, na geòidh, an maighdeann-mhara, an muime, agus an naoinean aice ann an Caolas Od Odrum. The second song, "Ann an Caolas Od Odrum," describes the straits of a place called 'The Straits of Od Odrum.'. The chorus of this song is made up entirely of vocables.
